What initially attracted you to growing orchids? Why have you gotten so involved in growing orchids? How long have you been growing orchids?

I’ve been growing orchids for about 44 years at this point. It was certainly love at 1^st sight when I 1^st saw them at the University of Minnesota in a botany green house over there at one time. That was my initial exposure to the beautiful tropical orchids. When I saw them in a greenhouse there and realized how beautiful they were-they were the most beautiful objects I had ever seen. I am very attracted to beautiful things like plants and the world of nature and artwork and that sort of thing. I decided that I wanted to grow such beautiful things. That’s what attracted me to them and I’ve been growing them ever since.
