Let's say we buy a larger Phalaenopsis for $65, a nice mature blooming for maybe the 2nd year, how long will this plant stay in bloom?

We always like to say that Phalaenopsis plants stay in bloom for perfection from anywhere to 2-4 months. Sometimes they go onto 6 months. And many times after the blooms have all gone the stem may be trimmed back a bit to trim away the part that had the flowers, and a branch or 2 can develop out of the old stem, the bumps-the nodes which are still up and down the stem. Once they are 2 to 3 years in blooming they may be perpetually in bloom.

Paying $65 dollars for a plant to begin with probably wouldn’t be a bad deal if you wanted some flowers in your house.

You would probably have to buy 3 or 4 azalea plants for the same length of bloom.

Certainly and the orchids are really quite enjoyable things, a beautiful boguet of roses lasts about 7-10 days and a Phalaenopsis orchid flower of the standard sized flower variety sometimes takes take 30 days for its flowers to become mature size.

If it was a $65 Phalaenopsis, you’d have it in bloom for a really long time and it would be a very beautiful decorative object to maybe light up your house or your apartment or workplace for most of the winter and the spring.
