We have heard that orchids cost quite a bit of money. Is
this true? How much does an orchid cost? What should I expect
to pay for an orchid?
We recommend that you buy orchids that are larger than the
young seedling stage since the young plants, only a few inches
wide, require daily care-sometimes more than once a day.
If you want something that you are going to enjoy in bloom
you’d probably better get one that is in the 3-4" pot to
begin with.
This would be a 1st bloom seedling size. They’d
only need to be taken care of, watered, every 3-4 days.
You could buy anything like that ranging from $15-40 and up.
The bigger plants, if it’s a particularly fine specimen, the
cynosure of all eyes, there are extremely high prices still
occasionally paid for some orchids which not only are beautiful
to look at, but make wonderful breeding parents.
