What have orchids, as a Family, contributed to modern day
society?
They have certainly contributed to not only modern society,
but also very ancient society.
Certainly the qualities of great beauty.
There were Chinese emperors at one time, a few thousand years
ago, which prized there own native Mini Cymbidium Orchids of
China for there wonderful perfume, which made the emperors lives
more durable with all of the heavy silk clothing they had to
wear.
They were commemorated in paintings, calligraphy and clothing
by the Chinese emperors.
Orchids have contributed beauty and a certain quality of mystery
to our lives ever since.
There are so many different ones that you can never become
bored with them.
They have contributed a great deal to our modern life, for
one thing the mila is called the vanilla bean which is actually
the fruit of the vanilla orchid, and that is a source of our
vanilla.
I do not think that orchids are very much grown for their
edibility, they are grown for their beauty and their lovely
different colors and utterly interesting aspects.
They are indeed living art objects.
